Academic School for Interior Design

was developed to aid in the continuing education of the interior design professional and to aid those individuals who wanted to pursue a career in interior decorating.  The school offers courses that are approved by the DBPR of Florida and IDC, Interior Design Continuing Education Council, along with a CERTIFICATE PROGRAM in Interior Design.

We feel that education is a powerful tool and is the surest way to advance in any profession today.  Whether the design professional is trying to obtain their required (20) Continuing Education Hours or just beginning a career in interior design, education plays a very important role.  Learning is important to staying competitive and keeping on the "cutting edge".  Educated professionals make informed, safe and creative decisions that can affect the health, safety and welfare of the consumer. Today's successful designers will be those who can successfully turn unrealized potential in the design industry into positive results.

The CERTIFICATE PROGRAM is a home study program that was  developed to aid those individuals who wanted to pursue a career in interior design without the cost or time of attending a university or college. Currently, 24 states require that an interior designer have a degree in Interior Design, usually taking 4 years, and 4-6 years of work experience.  The curricula that makes up this program is similar to that taught at state level schools.  While the CERTIFICATE  PROGRAM is a nondegree program, it will not only foster personal growth but it will enhance your professional development and knowledge of interior design.  Completion of the CERTIFICATE PROGRAM signifies the strong effort you have put forth to graduate from the Academic School for Interior Design and the desire to serve the public in a professional manner. Graduation from this program can offer one the credentials you need to become employed by an interior design firm, the qualifications to apprentice under an interior designer or the confidence to start your own interior decorating business.  Upon completion of this program you can use your learned skills in interior design and join thousands of others enjoying a  rewarding career in interior decorating.

The CERTIFICATE PROGRAM's structure has been built on education, experience and examination. It is a home study program designed to be taken at your own leisure in your own home.  There is no time limit.  There are no pre-requisites to qualify for this program. 500 Contact Hours (CH) are required to complete this program.  Students must maintain a C average (70% or above) to graduate from this program. We provide all the information for the education portion in the Contact Hour segments.  At times, the CH segments will include field trips that will be required to research a specific topic.  These field trips are also designed to give you immediate hands-on training in the various different fields and aspects involved with interior design. Along with taking the required Contact Hours, students of this program are eligible to take the  IDCEC and DBPR approved courses that are available to licensed design professionals. You will be responsible for completing an exam after every CH segment. It is just that easy!  Register today!
